Today’s morning keynote was filled with blunt passion. Many hearts were convicted as Rich Christiano spoke about how Christian films should not be watered-down, but filled with the fiery truth of the Gospel. There is only one kind of Christian. Radical, born again, Holy Spirit-filled. “Do you want to live your life for Christ? Then preach Christ!” “Christian films should point to Christ. That’s what makes them Christian. If they do not, they shouldn’t be made.”
Rich shared with us a few keys to accomplishing this absolute devotion and focus on Jesus Christ:
- The Bible — We must know God’s Word if we are going to do anything with filmmaking.
- Prayer — We must be in communication with and under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
- Fellowship & Witness — We need fellowship with pastors and other believers. We should witness to leaders, celebrities and even pastors.
The churches are full of people who are still living in Romans 7. People who have never been set free from anything. A Christian is someone who has been set free from sin by God. “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8) What has Jesus set you free from?
If you want your life and works to be powerful, surrender them to God and watch what He will do with them. Focus on souls first, not sales. Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus.
Rich’s central point was that of avoiding indifference to Jesus Christ and truly leading the life he taught us to lead. His words were filled with zeal as he stated, “As for me and my filmmaking company, we will serve the Lord.”
